Hi everyone

Just signed up and have been searching but can't find the answer.

Ive fitted a couple of these alarms now and never really had a problem before.

Ive got a Magnetic Door contact fitted but its very hit and miss on working correctly. Ive spaced the contact on the frame and is all aligned correctly and have the door chime set on the alarm so once a door is opened it chimes to say the door is open. Sometimes it chimes and other times nothing although the Red Light on the sensor lights up every time when the door is opened but still no chime.

Any Idea's

Cheers

The red light lighting up does not mean the signal has been recieved just that is is being sent.

Is the door frame metal or if it is pvc have you fitted the contact where there is a large metal component?

It is likely that the signal is not getting through due to those reasons.
If it's a pvc door then move the sensor accross a bit (15cm or so) away from the metal compnent.

If the door is metal then you will not get the sensor to work on that door.

How far away from the panel is the sensor?

Could there be something else stopping the signal?
Is your wifi router within 1 metre of your control panel?

You can test if the door frame is the problem.
Put the panel in walk mode.
remove the door contact cover with the button and test by pressing the button.

You should get a chime from the panel.
Starting near the panel walk towards the door you have fitted it to and keep testing by pressing the button every 5 seconds. Keep doing this right up to the point the contact is back in its bracket.. If it works fine right until you put it in the bracket then metal in the door is the problem.

Just try the same test again but hold the sensor near another part of the door until you find a spot where the signal always gets through.

Many Thanks for the info, seems to be a lot better now, Iv'e moved it further along the door away from the locking mechanism and works fine now.

Thanks again

When I arm or disarm the alarm the siren chirps a couple of times, Ive looked in the manual and suggests the battery's are low but there brand new, Ive looked through the book and played around with the settings but can't get it to go away, Infact I made it worse at one point, upon arming the siren would beep intime with internal keypad but managed to turn it back off.

Cheers Again

Go into the devices-program siren menu and select the confirm beep option,

set it to off.
