2. since the element stop working the cooker has started to stop heating intermitedly, if we switch it off then back on it works then seems to cut off again randomly for no apparat reason ?

Are the 2 problems related of sperate should i just bin the cooker and return the element or is it worth repairing ?

After a quick look there seem to be 2 ovens with that model number

the PNC can help identify models correctly
I found PNC 949711202 http://procornerpdf.electrolux.com/Pictures/Views/P0949/3024176.PDF and
PNC 949711779 http://procornerpdf.electrolux.com/Pictures/Views/P0949/3024176.PDF
with a brief search.

There are 2 fans fitted in these ovens one inside the main oven and one it the top to blow cool air past the controls (there should be a grill at the top of the oven door which air blows out of when the oven is switched on and keeps running for a short while after it is switched off)

If the top fan stops it can cause the top part to over heat and if it is fitted with thermal protection it will keep cutting out until it cools.

PNC 949711779 thats the pnc for the model i have hope this help solve what i should do with the oven :) :)
