This oven trips out the earth leakage breaker when the fan + heat is selected after a few minutes of operation. The oven works ok when used without the fan, so I thought- easy just replace the fan motor. Having done this, the fault remains, so I'm guessing it must be the element (what else can it be??) but why would it work ok without the fan?

Any help appreciated

You have more than one element fitted in this appliance. selecting element only normally means top and bottom element (either or).

Selecting fan means the fan oven element which is behind the back plate around the fan blades.

This now makes sense, must be the circular element breaking down. I'll get one and fit it. Particularly pleased to get an answer from Cornwall, as I am a Lostwithiel boy born & bred. Proper job!
