Ze at infinity

I met one miserable bugger who did nothing but moan about fitting a meter, and eventually grudgingly fitted it but took some persuading.
However, on the whole they seem like a nice bunch of chaps.

(BTW Martin is it your links or photobucket that is not working?)

Hi

It appears to be photobucket or just heavy web traffic. They did when I first posted earlier today. I have tried earlier post link, didn't respond either.

Re earthing, since the CU was changed there are RCBO on the rings, the man from the DNO opined that the likely places to get elec shocks from were protected, he was reasonably happy that it wasn't "dangerous".

Does everyone think I should get a rod in, bearing in mind it's probably going to be 6 months or more before the DNO get round to changing the head?

Regards
Martin

Yes, get a spark to sink a rod in and test it for you, also to convert the existing circuits and equipotential bonding to the standards required for a TT system. Even if the sockets are RCD protected it is still a bad idea to run without an earth as a fault current will need to flow to earth in order for the protection to operate, this current may even have to flow through you. The other side of the coin is if a fault occurs on a circuit which is not RCD protected then you risk all exposed metalwork on all circuits becoming live above true earth potential.
