Zilmet EV: water Leaking

Many thanks - Hmmm..I am wondering why the plumber installed this type of EV 2 years ago... And why this has not been spotted during the annual service checks by my current plumber...
You mean a plumber fitted that? You're having a laugh aren't you?

OK. I will get the plumber to sort it out.

Many thanks for all the help. All posts have been timely and very useful :)

Yep a CORGI registered plumber installed it originally. And a different CORGI registered plumber has been doing the annual servicing...Anyway, I will take the issue off-line with the plumber.

Id check he is G3 unvented qualified. Theres a couple of bits on that cylinder that isnt correct. Looks to be normal plastic pipe on discharge going round back of cylinder, discharge hasnt been upsized correctly and the PRVs look like standard calleffi ones :? And who just plonks an EV in a bowl on the floor!

Many thanks for the info on G3 unvented qualified and for the observations on the system. That said, the system has been working fine. It's just the EV that appears to have become corroded after 2 years..which is somewhat surprising for me....

BTW I take all the credit for plonking the leaking EV into the bowl to catch the water....

Regarding the choice of EV i.e. Potable Versus Heating, the system has a megaflow storage tank, which I have been informed has it's own EV built-in. Also please note there's a System boiler installed_not a Combi boiiler as I previously posted.

Therefore can a Heating EV suffice in this system OR is it mandatory for a potable EV to be used? All observations on this matter will be appreciated.

your cylinder isint a megaflo, I think its an ultrasteel which requires an expansion vessel suitable for potable water.

Many thanks for the quick reply picasso....You are right, it's a RDM Utrasteel which, as you said, requires an external EV.

Thats an outrageous spot! its hardly visible. I bet your good at those where's wally books! But it does indeed look like the discharge goes into a plastic fitting.
The ERV is probably ok mind you, caleffi do make them for unvented water sets.
