Hi, Im DIY'er installing new heating system. Is "S"plan+ type system with multiple zone valves (using heatmiser UH1 controller)

Is there any recommendation on fitting the zone valves to the feed or return side of CH (from combi).

Many thanks

It would be very rare for anyone not to fit the pump and valves on the flow side on a domestic system nowadays.

Dont forget the auto bypass valve.

Thanks Tony - could not find that documented anywhere. Using the pump in combi so its already on the supply side I guess

Yes, plan to have bypass to cover combi overrun etc.

Cheers Jim.

No, placing the pump and motor valves on the flow is current practice with heat only boilers whereas all the combis have the pump, on the return!

One could say that runs it at a lower temperature and reduces heat loss inside the boiler casing.

However, in your case the motor valves should be on the flow!

Fit the valves where ever you like, flow or return. As long as they close the circuit it will work fine,.

Yes, it will still work but its just not the current practice!
