zx10r keeps stalling whilst riding

got a mate with a zx10r (08-09) and apparently it cuts out while hes riding it just wondered if its a common fault.... any ideas???

A wild guess (maybe not so wild if it was a Honda) - rectifier problems cause issues with the igniter module, and the bike is less prone to problems with the lights off.
Assuming that the fuel tank vents aren't blocked, etc.
