Hi Jiffage - I've come up against the EXACT same issue as you, relating to a planned kitchen extension. All within permitted development but the case officer is being picky about a small old outside toilet connected to our back wall.

How did you deal with this in the end? Any tips?

When I stuck in issue, I prefer to search your suggested solution. I myself a structural engineer but with limited knowledge. I have a 300 mm cavity wall to support with 152 beam with 8mm plate on top. BC has asked for calculation to verify top plate. I don't know how I can provide calcs for plate against line load.I tried to do plate design in tekla tedds. Any suggestion or any manual calculation?
