Clearing junk from the loft recently, found a box with 8 36V 400W Xenophot lamps inside.

Ooh, I thought - 7 in series, some ceramic connector blocks - I wonder what 2.5kW of light looks like....

Eyeball burners!

The "blinders" that we use on rock'n'roll gigs use 8 DWE lamps, each of which is rated at 650W, these are wired in series pairs & then two pairs in parallel on a dimmer channel - giving a total of 5.2kW per blinder!

Monsters of Rock used 120 of these for the outline of the stage.......
