Brick Strength

Hi,

I'm putting up a two-storey extension with brick on the outer skin and blocks on the inside. Would it be better to use Class B Engineering bricks throughout instead of red facing bricks because they're stronger? I'd perfer to use the facing bricks but will they provide the support.

The choice of a suitable brick can depend on exposure to extreme weather conditions but strength is not an issue here so match the facing bricks with the property.

Also, engineering bricks would make it more difficult if you need to drill any holes in it a later date, perhaps to add a light or some hanging baskets.
