If you want rid of it you might like to try your local Freecycle group, there are often people after hardcore for projects.

I'd give you a link but the mods would see it as advertisng, yet it's 100% relevant to the thread

google it.

is it advertising if he's giving it away free?

is it also advertising to promote a free recycling group? after all, we quite often post links to sites where stuff is sold as a pointer to a person asking a question..
