Hi I am looking to have a Salamander RSP50 installed. I have a indirect hot water tank, but it appears to have a big square box round it and I can see any fitting at the top of it. there are are 2 pipes coming out of the side of it one big and one small and another big pipe coming out of the bottom if it. does anyone know if a s flange can be fitted to this type of hot water tank?

That's an Elson plumbing unit mate, doubt you'll be able to fit a Surrey flange to that :?:

Thanks tony,
what are my options to get a decent shower, current the preassure is abismal.

Phone elson tech on 01914270777 with the tank model number and they'll put you wise regarding fitting another outlet on the tank. You'll also nee a cws of at least 50 gallons (if memory serves me right) for the pump (you cant tee off the mains cold).

Don't think you can fit pump on an Elson.

May be wrong of course.

It looks as if a surrey flange isn't required for elson tanks.

This is what it says on there leaflet

In these systems it is important to
ensure the hot & cold water storage
capacity is adequate for the type of
pump to be used.
The refill ball valve on the small
cold tank which refills the hot tank
is correctly set to prevent
aeration of the hot supply water to
the pump.
Smaller capacity Elson Tank
systems may benefit from a WSP3-
water starvation protection unit (see
col 1 page 12). For guidance
consult helpline 0870 855 4200.

No mention of a flange here!!!

its full name i believe is a surrey flange
Actually, the S Flange is Salamander's product name.

You'll also nee a cws of at least 50 gallons (if memory serves me right) for the pump (you cant tee off the mains cold).
Whilst that's good advice, 50 gallons isn't essential. It depends on (a) the incoming flow rate, (b) the showering flow rate, and (c) the duration of a shower session.
