Whats the difference between a Grundfos 25/50 and a 15/50 and are they inter changable.

port size, one is 15mm the other is 25mm(1inch)

second difference is length, 25/50 will usually be longer.(cant remember but 130 and 180 spring to mind)

Interesting quetion.

Talking about the Alpha 2 the other day, Grundfos informed the custard that there is no difference between the 25/50 and the 15/50.

According to them the 25 signifies it's use in Ireland.

utter rowlocks John

i've always understood that it is
maximum height of system x maximum capacity of the water content

so a 15 / 50 can have 15 metres height of system x 50 cubic metres of water in it before it becomes difficult for the pump to circulate the water

maybe someone else can confirm or say thats Bollx!!!

Scruff, got to talk to the Grundfoss guy and he tells me that the Alpha2 15/ series is identical to the Alpha2 25/ series. They use the code 25 so they will be able to spot pumps that come in Ireladn from the UK.

Pump numbers denote port size 15/25/32/40 etc and then the head in dm 50 is 5 metres,60-6,80-8,120-12.

Head is an irrelevance really as resistance in kpa is what you'd size by.
