Veritas R8 - adding a PIR

I am trying to add an additional PIR to my system to cover a new room in my extension.
I have wired from PIR location back to control panel.

This will go as Z6 on my system.

I have removed the loop jumper from Z6 and used white/red in here and also in the Relay / NC ports on the PIR end.
I have also wired Green and Yellow to Aux + and - at the both ends.

I have tested across the +/- on the PIR with a multimeter and have 13V.
However, no LED showing on the PIR and if I do a walk test, Z6 shows as permantly activated.

Anything else I should have done, (ie, does the control panel need programming to accept the zone?)

You can probably tell from my terminology that I am a DIYer and not an engineer!

What to do next?

Apart from checking you have the 12v the correct way around it sounds almost there, if the supply is ok then maybe worth swopping the PIR out for another one.
What make PIRs?
The panel may require programming later to tell the panel how to respond to zone 6, this wont have any impact on why the PIR is open all the time tho.

You should also connect the global tamper but this shouldn't stop the PIR from working.

It's a "Electronics Line EDUS004MER0A Wired Mercury EL-100" PIR.

Will double check the polarity later. Is there a test I can do with the multimeter from the panel end of the wire, to check the relay wires are connected properly?
 
The alarm pair should be closed circuit, if you want to you can measure the voltage across the pair, should be zero volts DC if the PIR is not in an alarm state, going up to around 12v if the circuit goes open.
As it was ok before with the link in I doubt the problem is in the panel.

Thanks - All Fixed.

It was the polarity across the +/- Voltage.

Walk tested and I'm a happy man! :D
