world cup

I think a lot of its down to inexperience.
You look at all the foreign players, they lose the ball and immediately fall down on the ground and roll around in agony like they've been tasered.
Some of the English lads lost the ball to a strong tackle, then got up and carried on playing!
Seriously how England ever expect to get anywhere in modern football without far more theatrics is beyond me.

I blame the FA. For years England has had some of the finest actors in the business, and who do they appoint as manager of the national team? Some bloke from Cwoydon! No wonder we're losing.

england had the potential to win that game, thats the frustrating thing. it seemed like they were scared of losing, well if you think that way you lost already. you got just get your head down, and when its bad, keep at it. why do england have to wait till there a goal down to start playing.

awful defending. great come back, awful defending, beat by a world class striker, proven world class striker.

i am sure the england players are gutted, but feel sorry for the fans, who plan these trips in advance.

Suarez looked like a player from a different class to both teams on the pitch.

Like him or loathe him, what he did was what top drawer strikers do on big occasions. That man could score goals against any team and England massively underestimated his threat.

I would rather watch an England team lose and put effort into a game rather than watch them hang back and defend a draw.

We are missing a lethal striker and a watchful dogged defence.

I'm not here to gloat but I will anyway. Engerland are rubbish, let's face it they didn't turn up against Uruguay or Italy. Rooney should not be on the park & as for the rest of his team mates, there's not one world class player.

Woy Hodgson will get the customary P45 as per usual.

Best laff of the whole game was seeing that single Tartan Army fan in the Uruguay crowd going mental at the end.

C'mon Scotland!!!!

Scotland of course know a world class player when they see one. They're on the telly selling them viagra or cola.
C'mon Scotland!!!!
No need to shout, it's not like they're a continent away is it?

At least we're on a equal footing with Spain now.

Easy to blame Rooney, if you know zip about football. Whatever he did, he'd have been wasting his time, given the shambles around him.

And as for Roy getting the boot, get real. It will take decades to get rid of the legacy of p!ss-poor coaching that is the England way - Roy was appointed primarily to oversee the root-and-branch overhaul of the English coaching system (see also opening of St George's National base, at B-o-T).

Part of this overhaul is already being seen - my own son's u-7 team, and the years above them, are now being subjected to strict FA guidelines on pitch and goal sizes, number of players, allowing goalkicks to be taken without forwards crowding the goalie (enabling play-out from the back, rather than lump it), etc etc.
In all likelihood, the next decent England team will have to wait until we've got rid of the current lot through natural wastage, and today's six-yr-olds have reached their twenties.

not much wrong whith england team, yes the defence needs shoring up.but got a good crop of youngsters. rooney played well, scored ,hit the bar set up sturrege, if england were more clinical in the chances they had, we would of won comfortably.

C'mon!! You guys are clueless!! Engerland are never a world class team, every single player in both their games have been a yard short, they can't mark a man & their defence is so easy to break down. Their formation is all over the place. A team like Chile could take 8 off them.

As for the passing OMG!! It's laughable, it's like every Skoolboy mistake in the book.

Look also at the number of young English players that have not progressed for the under 21 team, compared to the Germans for example.

If they were quality, why are they on the next flight home??
Rooney's goal was offside also by the way.

Oh yeah Hodgson's a great manager, he's a useless English f.d!! Look at his very poor club record, he's no Sir Alex eh!! C'mon, he's for the high jump as soon as they step off the plane........

Is Dick s£££ for real. Hodgson lay the foundations at Inter saved Fulham for a bit and did the same at Olbian. I agree he is at the post to shore up the legacy of monster mistakes. Oh who else is there Gordon Strachen
