My aerial came off of my roof, does anyone have an idea of roughly how much it would cost to replace?

It depends completely on what sort of signal area you're in, and where you want the aerial mounted. It can work out pretty pricey, and I'd warn you that a lot of the people offering to install them have no idea what they're doing. If you're looking to save money you might be best off buying a wideband aerial; http://www.aerialshack.com/triax-unix-wideband-aerial-p-267.html and installing it yourself.

You can get some pretty good guides on the internet on how to mount them. Try this one; http://www.aerialshack.com/chimneyaerial-g-15.html

If the aerial is being replaced then add in foam filled co-ax, the old stuff has holes in the core that tend to get water in it and the weather and UV will have affected the cable over the years.

Aerial £30 ish
Lashing kit and pole £20 ish
Cable £10 ish

Labour ?

Well that depends on area, level of high ladder work and final position of cable inside house, work on a easy half day (less than 4 hours) to do a simple job, more complex = more time.

A straight swap with a single wideband aerial is often between £120 and £200

Someone is making nice money, more so if that's on to old cabling.

OK I appreciate that getting up to a chimney or on to the roof is a PITA with long ladders and roof ladders, but £200 for a £30 aerial is excessive
