The manual refers to a second diagnostic menu that is accessible using a password. Anyone know the password?

The password is no longer in this thread. It lets you make adjustments you need knowledge and equipment to monitor.
If you think you need it, call the manufacturer.

as above, if you don't know what your doing don't play about with it. Boilers still under warranty isn't it?

It is a vain hope that I may be able to fine tune the firing characteristics. When in CH mode and the boiler fires after coming back from HW demand, it initially starts with low heat and then ramps up if required. This means that the temp does not shoot up and therefore the boiler does not go into anti-cycling. Thats' all OK, however when in CH mode and the boiler fires due to thermostat demand (actually from Glow Worm intelligent controller, situated in the hall), it starts with quite high heat - the temp ramps up quickly, and the boiler goes into anti-cycling. I wish it would operate like it does after coming back from HW demand. To be honest, I think the control firmware requires a mod.

If thats what it is doing and there is any facility to stop it happening then that should be covered by the warranty.

However, isn't there a user accessible CH range rating setting which you could set correctly first? A typical three bed semi needs about 10-11 kW for heating ( in the coldest weather! ).

You guys really make me laugh.

You have your own forum for stuff like this - why not use it?

I'll try the CH range setting as you suggest, however I am concerned that will limit quick warm-up in the morning.

the password is XX but don't change anything your not sure about, altering the l2 settings voids the warranty. set d0 to 18 and d1 to 8. leave the rest alone.

Thanks for that - I have set d0 & d1 as you suggest but I could do that from the l1 menu. As for the extra functions enabled in the l2, menu, I now realise that I need a list explaining what they are :?

the list is in the back of the servicing and installation instructions

Unfortunately only the l1 functions are listed in the instructions

That's hysterically funny. It must be the way you tell 'em.

My interest is solely helping people to repair and operate their boilers in the most efficient and comfortable way possible which will contribute to reducing the global warming problems.
Hold your green horses a moment there, Agile - hadn't you heard that we're now in a period of global cooling?

Dangermouse - I think I could solve my problem by increasing the pump pre-run time, i.e. before the boiler fires. Do you know if this is adjustable from the l2 menu and, if so, which parameter?
