The Police have banged up a Lithuinian chap I work along with. He was due to fly home today for a couple of weeks to his home country.
The only information we can get from the police is that he has commited 3 DCI's in 17 days.
They wouldn't even tell us when they will release him.

Does anyone know what a DCI means ?.
I think its motoring offences but not sure. :(

The bossman made the phonecall and he could perhaps be mistaken about what they meant.
They were going on about confidentialliaty also and would not give any clear information about his release from custody.
His other friend is with me also and he is in contact with him by phone (I think) and when I asked about his release he just shrugged his shoulders.
His english is very bad and communication is difficult.

DUI.... Driving under the influence ??

Is that an official acroynm toptec ?.
Just off the blower to the local police station and dci has been picked up incorrectly.
Anyway we have lost a member of the workforce and the only people they will release information too is family members and they are all in Lithuania as far as I know. :(

Yeah it is Norcon.

Sometimes relates to an instance where the driver is unable or unwilling to provide a positive breath specimen.

Driver is hoiked off to the nick - given another opportunity to blow into the machine, or given the option of providing a sample of blood.

Can also refer to an instance where the roadside specimen is negative but the Cop still suspects his driving is impaired, possibly through drugs. Again taken to t'nick and blood sample taken.

Whatever it is three times in 17 days is not good.

Is it possibly related to his nationality/status?

Ok. Just been talking to the custody sergeant.
The lad told me on Monday he was going to the police station the next day (Tuesday)
But I have been informed he was actually going to COURT.
(communication problem here obviously)

Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated.

As he was a Lithuinian perhaps it stands for...

Dont Charge Im

I agree

Most Willi Betz drivers have trouble setting up their picnics and pouring cheap russion vodka as they can barely stand once they are out of their unit.

Mind you, for £350 a month you aint gonna be drinking Smirnoff are you?

A week on the road with a european lorry driver was actually the most scary week of my life. The corkscrew at Alton Towers was also scary, but it lasted a few minutes.

Never again

The Corckscrew??? Don't go on Nemesis then, or 'The Big One' at Blackpool, they'll mess you up!! The big one is worse as it takes you about 90seconds to get to the top and all that time you know it's too late to change your mind! Its also usually bl**dy freezing up there!!
