Hello,

I was at Wickes the other day and I spotted a can of Wickes rapid dose inhibitor, I know that you should really stick to major brands i.e Sentinel and Fernox but I have a feeling that the Wickes version is the same as the Sentinel rapid dose becuse both the instructions are identical, the only difference was the bottle colour and Wickes badge and of course the price.

Opinons please

You will get conflicting information!

I have heard a Sentinel man saying they do not manufacture for sheds.

I have also heard a Sentinel man say they make it for Wickes but it is much weaker and the genuine stuff should be used.

I would always use the genuine product for my clients!

Tony

Look at it logically.

If you were sentinel, would you give the same quality product to Wickes to sell cheaper than your own product?

the answer is really simple.
we don't know. you don't know. a couple of quid may mean the difference between a fine system or a corroded system with hundreds of pounds of damage. buy cheap, get cheap

Difference is that Fernox manufacture their own stuff whereas Sentinel dont, they buy the product on license from Aqueous Logic who also make stuff for Wickes.

That's interesting aquasolving. Fernox is most likely the better product then. Do they do a version that just injects via the filling loop like Wickes & Sentinal do? If so is the filling adaptor the same? I find that method real simple.

OiLecky,

Fernox do do the same as sentinal, it's called a super concentrate and is added in the same way.

Thanks jon. I prefer Fernox products but the Wickes ones are easy to get on my frequent visits! I must change my ways and make sure I that always have Fernox cartridges.

gas4you . Dave for someone who fits the odd Optia your look at it logically quote about sentinel does not work as that boiler is identical to a classic but is sold considerably cheaper through plumbcentre

plumb centres own stuff is apparantly made by fernox

I seen a bottle of Altech inhibitor from Grahams and it was exactly the same shape of the Fernox protector F1 bottle and instructions the same too.

Does any body know wher salamander get their stuff from or is it their own?

I only ask cos i used to work for a company that had their office over the road from them LITERALLY! and it wasn't big enough for them to manufacture their own

BTW, the first person that can google the company i used to work for 6 years ago (this could be in some ppls favour BB, WS, WW etc!!) will win a:

Dutch colonial Korean developed self inducing antilocking zincplated stainless steel coated plastic polychloroethylinated twist thread with preferential auto infrared nightvision warning device.
