I am about to paint my ceiling and have 12 spot lights sunken into the ceiling. Whats the best way to tackle this ie cover them up so i can paint staight over them.

Is there a product on the market??

Thanks

your best bet would be to cut round them with a brush then roll the ceiling, if you cover them up theres a chance the paint will get threw. paint a small square round them rather than a circle as you'll have less chance missing a bit when you roll it. have a wet rag with you to wipe any hits off straight away they are a nightmare to clean when dry. switch the lights off when you paint round them if possible because they will blind you and you will not be able to see what your doing and they also tend to heat up so if you do hit them with the paint it'll bake on straight away.

good luck

Why can't you just pop out the spot lights, paint around the holes, when dry, replace them. I have spot lights at home & held in with a spring clip.

thats how i always do it if there 230v spots sometimes you can easy remove them and put them back in after the roof is dry

i thought when he said sunken they didnt have an edge to pop

all spot lights should be easy to remove but ive seen some that have been fitted wrong where the only way you can remove them is by lifting the floor boards up above them.
