Hi

I am getting three new UPVC windows and after inspecting the windows to be replaced i have noticed that two of them need the lintels replacing. Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to replace the lintels and fit the new windows?

Cheers
Rob

Complete lintel replacement (spanning both leaves) is not a job that builders will be queuing to do.

Awkward, time consuming and thankless, sums it up. :p

I forgot to mention its a bungalo dose that make it easier?

If it is a gable end then no.

If the windows finish flush with the soffit then there is only the inner leaf to worry about
If there is a course of bricks or more above the window then it is tricky, particularly if the soffit is clad in plastic and intrudes down the brick slightly.

They are concrete lintels and one definatly needs changing because it has cracked and dropped slightly. Non are on the gable end
