When flor goes it it will be 4.7 x 5.7m .

What can i use to tamp the concrete to level it?

Scaffold board - 4m i'm afraid.

You can make a shutter board out of anything that is reasonably straight but it needs to be wieldy - Too heavy and you will maul your guts out, to light and it won't be man enough, i.e. it will flex whilst trying to tamp and drag the screed with a shove/pull motion.

It is possible to split the tamp with a mid-span shutter that can be removed and filled once tamping is complete, just prior to trowelling.

noseall.

Will a 4x2 be ok, can get a 5.1m length for only £6.

also do i have to put down sand ontop of the hardcore before the damp proof membrane?

A 4" x 2" will be ok, but you will need to be pretty handy when levelling and knocking about with the shovel.

Yes, you will need to sand blind the hard core.

Well the concrete will be put in by the wheelbarrow from readymix firm.

There will be 2 of us tamping the concrete as we go.

Once you get the rhythm it ain't so bad.

Don't fight each other when you see-saw the screed off either.

right

managed to get concrete in yesterday, 2cu. meters for £210 wheelbarrowed

Levelled it off and now letting it cure.

After how long will it be ok, to get the brickies in, and be able to stand on it?
