Or use 28mm in a zigzag ladder frame to allow burglar bill to climb up and dismantle it safely from the top and work his way down. HSE applies to everyone you know!

I agree it gets the job done, but it looks no good.

The instruction to the fitter was not to worry about internal mess as the house is in a state, he has also got to chop out a 22mm cold feed through the fabric of the house.

Consultation would have been a better option as he will now have to undo this.

Ask yourself this, would you pipe the feed this way if it were your house?

I would do the pipe this way if it were my house.
The choice of a 24i, being the cheapest possible option to get a WB, usually indicates cutting corners ether by the installer promoting the boiler, or the householder trying to get the cheapest deal possible.
Count yourself lucky he didn't undersize the pipe.

Transpires there was a 22mm feed into the airing cupboard anyway [hate to say I told him so but I did], he just couldn't be bothered to lift the floor boards to find out.

WB in itself is fine, but like dm mentioned, the 24i is the cheapest of the cheap and will not give an impressive performance.

24 KW will run a pretty poor shower on a cold winters day or take a bloody long time to fill a bath. Performance costs and like I said this is the bottom of the range boiler, better than some (such as Heatline, Ferrolli, etc) but nothing impressive by any means.

i have explained a similar job to this got the ok to do it then had the punter moan they dont like it.

gas supply from meter box should only exit from bottom of meter housing, thats why it has a knock-out. Top or side is not acceptable.
