I think it was late last year that our esteemed government, you know those thieving b******ds that fiddle their expenses, actually made it easier to make changes to your property without having to get formal approval whoopee..........

BUT

....this doesn't apply if you are in a Conservation Area or have a listed building, or want to change the roof height, etc, etc.

You also still need Building Regs approval for most things.

Be careful and check with the local planning office/building controls office before you do anything!

Not having planning approval and building regs sign-off when you come to sell your property can cause serious grief! :?

What they actually did was to make it easier to make changes which were even more limited than permitted development rights had been.

Not having planning permission can and does cause serious grief before then - they can and do make you tear things down, even entire buildings.
