I post this in response to a related post about food that you dislike.

While I'm in the mood of reminiscing about the past, what childhood food memories do you have that you miss?

One that springs to mind for me is vermicelli with smoked sausage and loads of butter.

Your wife never complains about my meat Tim!

Seriously though, my brother-in-law is a butcher (has his own shop), the meat we get from him is delicious!

wheelz "crisps".. they were made by "niblits" or something.. had a squirel as the logo..

Frisps used to be good too.. haven't seen them around for a while..

Can you still get sherbert dip, I think it's called - a tube of sherbert powder with a liquorice straw?

Or does anyone remember lucky dip bags from, I guess, the early 70's Used to cost either 3p or a tanner.

Yeah she likes a nice cucumber!
Yes you're right, diced or sliced

How about proper home made chips cooked in the old fashioned chip pan, using lard that had been used many times before (think we used to clean the pan out about once a year)

Weetabix spread with butter and jam.

As a 3 year old came in from my grannies garden and said to her that her strawberries tasted horrible. .
Puzzled look on her face as she didn`t have any in the garden on checking, her rose buds all had a bite out of them
