I hope someone can help or at least recomend a good product.
A couple of years ago I changed all the valves on my radiators to TRVs. I thought all was working well up until now, maybe it's because I have now moved into the upstairs of my house but it is real hot.
All the valves 10 in all don't work, well one works a chrome version.
They are Regis valves brought from B&Q. Is there a way I can repair these or should I just buy new and if I buy new are there options that will just screw into place without having to change the whole valve??

your faithfully
Sweaty bally.

did you turn them all down during the summer? their probably all stuck. Thats quality for you

Remove the head, and tap the pin with whatever you've got to hand. pin hammer, rolling pin.... The pin should be able to spring up when pushed down. A few taps should get it to pop up, then just "bounce" it a few times.

I'm wonder what use TRV's are sometimes.

If it's warm downstairs too, then turn temperature down at boiler. Might even save a few quid.

It's cold downstairs, I removed one TRV to see if I could prise apart and have a look inside but no joy they seem sealed in a way I can't find easily but weirdly when I put it back it worked so trying playing with the others perhaps they are just stuck like you said.

Probably a combination of cheap valves and poor maintenance; I would guess the system is soiled and has no inhibitor added to it.

Definately not a bad system, had a combi fitted recently, inhibitor added and have a magnetic spiro thingy inline on return that takes out the rust.
Something i did notice though, on the chrome one that works ok the plunger is really springy but the white one don't seem to spring as much, should they need freeing up some more do you think?

One could assume if the pin sticks down it can also stick up, so yes would be the answer.

My brain must really be on zero; that hint can only lead in one direction, but still don't see it. :( :( :x
Not much hope for me it seems.
