Some time ago somebody made a post about being able to make a pir stay on and breezer replied

"to humour you.

switch it off then on within 10 seconds

since most will see this as an "overide command" to come on and stay on till further notice

its easier than using 3 core and earth with the 3rd core going directly to the lamp connection via a switch and a live from same supply"

My question is - Does this have to be done at a time when the pir would normally be in a state of being capable of being activated, or can it be done any time of the day.

Some PIRs with this type of override feature will allow it to work at any time of day, others only at night when the photocell is active. You will either need to try it, contact the manufacturer, or read the instructions.

And some PIR lights do not have a "pulse mode over-ride".

AFAIK the ones that do have over-ride only work at night time, or if you change the LUX control to test/daylight mode.

I thank you for your prompt replies to my post.

I have tried it during the day and it doesn't work , but I haven't tried it at night yet.

There is nothing in the instructions about it, but the more expensive model of this lamp has a manual override, as I have noticed this in the pdf manual I downloaded for curiousity.
