tiling straight onto plasterboard

Is is okay to tile straight onto plasterboard without the boards being skimmed? Its a new en suite in a new extension im about to tile, but as most the walls are studded walls im scared the tiles are too heavy and the boards will come away from the wood when fully tiled with all the weight, cheers Rick

tanking system to be used if you are tiling a shower area that will have pretty much heavy use, say 20 mins min at a time,2 or 3 times a day, then YES its definately worth tanking, and as tictic says, use a powdered addy

greeny this just one there is also other makes on the market.
the one lance has shown u is the paint on version i would only use this for obs (over bath shower) were as he has said just the wet area u tank.

he he he, i am surprised at you mate, using that paint on carp, the only thing i would use that stuff for, ( and i only used it once, and thought it was carp ) was for a bathroom splashback, now i always got PROPER systems left over to use on OBS.

only use it when client has supplied it, and was only thing they could use within their budget..
but still does a job to a point i reckon for obs.. ;)

he he he, so truthfully, would you recommend it for OBS or given the chance use a proper tanking system?
