How do you know its illegal you dont even know if house meets excemption spec, you are jumping to conclusions.
Does not meeting current regs make something illegal or NCS phone gassafe about anything and they will say once its in it becomes existing.
Do you think gas safe would force this customer to have boiler removed , NO.

EVO a 552 is not 7 years old add a few years on that unless it was sitting on a shelf

why would any one would want to fit an open flued appliance , when gas was dirt cheap it didint matter that nearly half the heat went up the flue never mind the fact that they are inherently more dangerous than room sealed, you must be as tight as a ducks a** to have this installed but you will pay through your gas bills.dont forget to cut a nice big hole in the wall to let the fresh air in.

Do you really beleive if i phoned GS they would not want to know who installed this item?
No matter how you gloss it IS illegal even the customer has admitted this.
In the last 5 years how many properties have you visited that could not have a condensing boiler probably none.
I have been to one in Hull which was a bought flat on the 12th floor where i could not work out where to run a condensate.
I am not presuming anything regarding the OP as he has stated he could have a condensing boiler.

Yep, the guy fitted it approx 7 yrs ago, apparently it was liquidation stock and just bought as a job lot. installed and the rest is history.

Gassafe may ask who installed it but do you think they have any powers to remove it especially if its perfectly safe, get real

Sorry if my post was misleading, but yes, I bought is off a BG engineer who had fitted it 7 yrs previously and removed it for sale.
