Take it into the CC forum. This proves you are a gas safe registered engineer.

Otherwise no help on gas safety critical parts offered in a public forum

switch the power off

connect brown and blue together and place meter probe on it

connect other probe to earth

switch power back on and note reading

Are there any sure fire tests to see if someone is carrying out illegal gas work?
1. Make numerous queries regarding a multitude of blrs/appliances.
2. Show's a worrying absence of basic background knowledge
3. Posts questions only in public domains
4. Becomes hostile when challenged over the above

Tell me your not charging people for the priveledge of you experimenting on their heating systems.

In one of his posts he refered to "his plumbing business" !

He is clearly an unregistered cowboy who should be ignored on this site!

Ha ha ha...how WRONG u r!!!!!!! I AM a registered gas engineer just not familiar with specific aspects of work which I would obviously like to get right AND safely.
However, there are a few on this site who seem to gloat over others who would like to improve their knowlegde & understanding hence the questions asked.
I thought this site was supposed to help others and not poke fun at them for trying.? Obviously its used by some to keep knowledge & experience to themselves and laugh at those who try to improve theirs. Perhaps this is the reason for such a shortage to good breakdown gas engineers in this country.
Have seen posts made by others who seem to get the same treatment as I have just experienced...how is that helping others???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

to agile stop being a ****** and answer the question!!!!!!! thats assuming that u know the answer? which I doubt .
