hello im new to this so please bare with me.
i would like to replace the unit behind my cooker for a single socket and have been told to reduce the amp in the consumer unit from a 32 to a 16 is this correct and if so how do i remove the 32amp.
thanks

no need to change the breaker.. it's there to protect the cable and as it's already installed for a cooker ( presumably it's 6mm²? ) then that's fine..
the fuse in the plug will take care of fusing down for the appliance..

Thanks
so its fine just to change the electric unit behind my gas cooker to a single socket to plug my gas cooker plug into the one for the cooker light will i need to change the fuse.
thanks

if the cooker came with a plug then it should have the right size fuse in it.
if you are fitting the plug then the fuse size will depend on what the plug feeds.. if it's an electric oven then it will be 13A, if it's just for the ignitors and the oven light ( which is what I think you said above ), then 3A should be fine..

Well, if you don't Ban, I wouldn't mind. Hang Mrs Secure.

Oh hello, darling.

What am I doing?

Nothing, my sweet...
