1 week ago had new baxi solo 24 condensing boiler fitted. Kept existing control panel on wall (british gas model UP1) and thermostat/roomstat in hallway. Heating enginner initially wired up the control panel just to get the system working but it needed wiring properly - so he sent an electrician out a few days later. Had problems the very next day!
Problem we are still having:
1 We leave the system is on timed (for 24 hrs a day) and control house temp by thermostat. Thermostat was put at 10 degrees (below the ambient room 'click' on the thermostat - which is about 16-18 degrees), but the heating STILL comes on.
2 When the control panel is cycled through timed/once/on and finally left on off, the heating system STILL comes.
3 The hot water timings appear to be working with no problems.
At other times, the heating function/thermostat seems to work fine, but then for no reason, goes 'wibble' and heats the house when either off or below the thermostat click. The enginner is going to speak to Baxi and his electrician and someone will come back at the end of this week. I think that 'they' think we don't know how to use our controls - but have been using them with no problems for last 3 years.
Really appreciate your thoughts.
