I have just been given a Dell Latitude D610, its working fine so far, need to know what the touch pad keys do/control.
Plug a mouse in and Im ok, but how do you scroll without using the side bar.

Go to Control Panel and click on Mouse.

That should open up the touchpad section and you can select what you want the keys to do.
Mine is an Inspiron but should be much the same.
You can select whether plugging in a mouse will disable or leave the touchpad active.

That didnt open up as you said, but I think I know what they do now

May have been slightly different, but I only had my Inspiron to check and write the instructions down. Hope you can understand the workings of the buttons etc now.
