Tescos do one for about 40 quid, and it looks pretty smart. I already have shoes and and a tie, if I buy one then I can use it again for weddings and christenings

Good luck to the OP. But times change or what 1970 - apprenticeships everywhere - last on a school leavers list would be Council workman . 2010 the poor bugger needs a degree and a day @ interview teqniques and a dodgy landlord`s suit - to get that Council job - While us baby boomers sit pretty waiting for the OP to start paying for OUR State pensions . plus his £600 plus a month rent to another dodgy landlord .... Don`t ya just love little britain

look smart,make eye contact with the interviewer and have relevant questions to ask, good luck.

Although there deffinitley won't be any more moans if I get this job!if all else fails, try sending spec letters to 50 of the companies locally who you think you could work for..
I sent mine out yesterday, got a call this morning, interview this afternoon, call back this evening, start on monday!!!! result!!!
I must of sent around 40 letters out, all about 6 pages long including a letter of reference from my tutor and the bloke I did work experience with, and also added photocopies of my gcse certificates. Not a single reply, but I suppose I'll keep trying if all else fails.

wear a watch, shows you're punctual and organised
don't wear too much / any bling.. wedding ring if you must ( but not if you're applying for machining jobs etc where you would have to take it off anyway.. etc.. )
your spec letter may be too complex.. would you sit and read 6 pages and wade through a load of certificates etc?
a one page covering letter and a copy of your 2 page CV should be sufficient..
if you give them all the info up front then they don't have to get you in to get the rest do they?
