hi-im after adding a new bathroom fan to my stripped out bathroom-at the moment theres just bare walls and a new plasterboard ceiling about to go in.
can the feed be taken via a 1mm twin and earth lighting cable from the bathroom ceiling rose or should i say jcn box as im gonna install chrome downlighters to a fan switch which im thinking of having fairly high up above the bathroom doorway then from the switch directly to the fan which will be operated by a pull chord.

im gonna install chrome downlighters.
Have you thought about the fact that downlighters are also frequently known as spotlights, because they produce narrow beams of light, the idea being that they spot light specific items or features? They are not good for lighting up whole rooms, as it's almost the opposite of what they are designed to do.

Also, what's above the bathroom? Are you aware of the requirements, and potential difficulties of complying with Part C and Part L of the Building Regulations when you cut holes in bathroom ceilings?

You're supposed to notify this work, and there's more than just Part P to take account of.
