bungalow smells

can anyone please help.
we have a constant stale type smell in our bungalow.we think we ventilate it enough,bought a new washing machine, decorated it and clean all the time but still cant solve it.
its starting to get us down as we have a baby on the way.
ant help would be grately appreciated.

Use one of those vacuum cleaners that use water to clean the carpets, if the furniture was in there prior to you moving in, clean that. I got given a leather settee, and they had dogs, and the settee stunk, even though I smoke, and have little sense of smell, so Frebreeze that, and clean it..

And check for the dead body under the floorboards/in the loft.

You say you decorated it? There was an article on Watchdog recently about wallpaper paste giving an unpleasant smell off. Possibly due to a reaction between slightly damp walls, and the paper. I smelt that a thousand times and Anne Robinson is an idiot. Did it smell before it was decorated?
