Do i need to use PTFE

I have a 1/2" BSP brass fitting (male) that is going to be screwed into a 1/2" BSP plastic socket (female).

Do i need and PTFE or paste?

wrap ptfe round the thread

unless the plastic part has a rubber seal etc in the bottom.

Make sure you wrap the PTFE round the right way though.
