hi guys
sorry for having to post again about a ariston euro combi a23 mffi. on my last post members said my heat ex is proberbly blocked so i asked someone in trade to do a powerflush which he can only do after christmas.
past problem
boiler flamed out in heating and hot water mode
air pressure switch changed and the problem changed to high flame to low flame in quick ocnession once boiler has heated up

the problem has now got worse, when heating is on the pressure rises slowly to 3 bar when on and redcues when boiler is off, so i phoned the same guy to see if he can come out any quicker which he cant and said it is the expasion tank at fault, this was diagnosed after releasing pressure via the pressure releif valve and pumping the expasion tank up to 1 bar and then topping up with water to 1.5 bar. having done this on request i was told the expansion tank is completly knackered and to buy a new boiler.

do this sound right to you guys, my feeling is a power flush would sort this problem out

goto a rad if its hot on top and cold bottom it may help but you can always get some else round for second opinon

rads was hot at top and only a bit cooler at the bottom, at the moment we cant heat rads without the pressure releif activating

yeah i got told by an rgi to use a bike pump and pump to 1 bar

I really think that you ought to get gas registered and learn something about boiler repairs before letting yourself loose on the public.

As long as you are asking these questions on an open forum it makes me cringe to think that customers are reading this.

Doyle. You have been coming on here for four years asking how to fix boilers and judging by the questions you are still asking you really need to ask yourself if this is the job for you.

Are you Registered? Or is that a daft question?
