Wiring problem on programer

CA ayone help me please? my drayton tempus one programer has never worked properly - it doenst turn off uness we override. I have now looked a the wriing to the back plate.

It has a brown wire going to the N left hand position on the backplate . Then blue to position L. Then a blue loop from L to No.1. Then nothing at 2. Then two twisted together black wires in at 3. Then nothing at four.

I think this has always been wired wrong. I thikn I should unitwist te 2 blacks placing one each a 2 and3. Please advse anyone. Thanks

The brown should go to L, Blue to N and leave the other connections as they are.
 
Get the wiring diagram from the Dratyon website.

Bear in mind this is live 230V, so you really need to know what you are doing.
Always expect that the colours of the wiring are wrong, and measure and verify each wire.
 
Thanks everyone. Sorry i said the blue and brwn the pther way ie t is al correct then. So the tmer mst be broken or faulty I think. I shouldnt searte the two bacs though should I?
 
Thanks again. So no.2 and no.4 are totally blank but no. 3 has two black wires twisted together .

I think it is faulty then so I am replacing. The local plumbers has Danfos TS715 whihc is the best replacment. I just have to move the two twisted blacks into position 2 instead leaving 3 and 4 totally blank.
