Heatline sargon 35kw F5

I've noticed a lot of f4 problems on here but nothing as yet for the f5;
It says something about the flue temperature censor being faulty---checked the manual it looks like i might just have to bite a bullet and get a replacement-a few questions then;
any reason to try and open it up, have a tighten of something and that should see to it?
indeed, is there anything I can do before calling a plumber or should i just got right ahead and get on with it?
How much we looking at cost wise??

Must admit I have not seen one of these boilers ? flue sensor/flue stat , generally present in condensers with plastic flues ? although some do not have them? they can either send the boiler into a lock out situation or they can trim the boilers out put / as well as eventually going to a lock state !

There could be several reasons for a flue sensor problem ? therefore u would be best advised to get some proffesional assistance

i agree with transam. simple enough boiler but preferred the solaris that came before it. should not be a dear repair if nothing serious found that caused it

can i ask....does it buzz like mad?

You are risking problems!

First you should not be working on combustion related parts of the boiler.

Secondly anyone fault finding can easily measure the sensor if they have the appropriate skill.

Thirdly, if you, or anyone you call, looks at the boiler its VITAL that they ensure that the boiler is NOT overheating!

If I found a flue temp indication then I would first expect that there could be a high temperature!

For a modern boiler like that you need a competent boiler engineer rather than a plumber.

no it doesn't buzz at all-it's silent. the temperature dial when turned does influence the temperature but after a few seconds displaying a figure it then returns to f5.
there's no sign of high temp
