In terms of DHW and CH, what type of heating system do gas engineers have installed in their own homes and what boilers do they use?

Vaillant 618 and unistor unvented cylinder honeywell valves & programmer, drayton trv4's rad valves, stelrad softline radiators

Well Chris R has a 25 year old Netaheat.

Doitall had a 30 y.o. Servowarm until last month when he fitted an Intergas combi.

That was after a lifetime of running down combi boilers!

An old Baxi WM. Re-gasketed once its life(so far), with a Honeywell S plan. Drayton TRV4's all round with an auto-bypass.

Standard Grade 3 cylinder - 5 years old and pre-lagged.

Honeywell prog. room stat.

As basic as it can get for a heating engineer, as I my work is not something I want to do at home.

I practice what I preach, so I've got an Archie Kidd condensing boiler, DualStream accumulator and unvented cylinder, Villavent heat recovery and a Honeywell Hometronic energy management system driving it.

Within the next few months I'll be installing a Mitsubishi Solar PV array too, as I reckon the 42p per kwh Feed In Tariff will make this a no brainer.

In my own house:

Remeha Avanta 35c, Honeywell cm927 prog room stat, drayton trv 4`s,
santon 250l unvented cylinder.

In my rental properties:
