Have you priced up an oil storage tank?. Some engineers do both but normally either one or the other.

Do you really want an oil tank (unsightly !!) on your premises, location must be where it is accessible for filling; (must also remember in good time to arrange filling)
Fluctuating oil prices - outlay for refill cost could vary considerably from refill to refill, also large outlay at once rather than cost spread over quarterly gas bill.
May also be worth checking with estate agent as to whether oil fired instead of gas C/H has any effect on the value of your property.

Can be disguised or otherwise hidden. Problem solved.

Can have remote fill point. Problem solved

Companies will deliver at short notice if you have a problem. Problem solved.

ALL fuels will increase from now on, gas included. Companies will offer various payment and top up schemes. Problem solved.

True but basically the answer to the original question is no, it wouldn't be a good idea to change from gas to oil if you are already currently on nat. gas, even getting the boiler gratis there are substantial costs to setting up an oil installation.
