Just bought a house. The system had been drained.
Removed all stickers from stop taps warning me to call a plumber etc and turned them on. Life breathed into the system and all the cold water taps came on. I quickly ran around happily turning them off.
There is not CH but there is an immersion heater for hot water.
I turned on the hot water switch hoping for it to just work but when I went to turn on the hot tap I realised it was already on and the hot water was blocked somewhere.
I have investigated. The header tank is working correctly and there is water in it. There is water getting to the immersion boiler tank thing as the valve you attach the hose to by the feed into this had water coming from it. This isn't getting hot.
Then the confusing thing. The hot water feed for the washing machine has plenty of water coming from it. This was off when I moved in unlike the other hot water taps making me think I did something wrong by not realising they were off when I filled the system.
Any ideas?

yes I'm pretty sure I've covered any isolation valves and I'm on the theory of air lock. Any ideas of how to get rid of an air lock. I have comically sucked on the taps and get some water out. Any suggestions? Thanks for the reply btw.

Close all taps and connect a single washing machine hose between the hot and cold washing machine valves open up and push the air back up the down service you will only need to use a short burst repeat this untill all the hot taps flow - check that the fuse has not been removed from the switch spur unit to prevent accidentaql operation of the Immersion heater.

Thanks for the advice. Will do the washing machine hose thing tomorrow. That was what I had seen when I said I found something to do. Wish me luck
