Basically currently have a heritage exposed deluxe thermostatic valve (think its that as looks like it - previous owners fitted it).

The spacing between the inlet pipes coming out the wall is c. 145mm.

I want to replace it because
a) its currently functioning more like a 'random water temperature generator' flipping between hot and codl water.
b) it sticks out a long way (around 175mm) into a small shower enclosure and so would prefer a bar type that gives you a bit more space!

Probably will replace the whole shower room in couple of years so just looking for a quick fix for now which will sort those issues.

I had a grohe G1000 at my last place and think it's ace for constant temperature so am thinking of getting one - or at least the equiavelent one to it at Screwfix as its on offer. Also know it's slimmer to the wall. more like 100mm.

Big question is when I look at the installation documents it says the inlet pipes are 150mm +/-15mm.

Numpty question time...

Know, the grohe unit is a solid unit so I don't fully understand how you have variation in the feed pipes width, although my feed pipes are at 145mm so if I could get it to easily fit then that would be great. Could someone shed some light on what it means in the installation docs.

Had a look at some installation docs and remeasured the gap. It's actually around 137mm/138mm between centres.

Those mira connectors give max 5mm adjustment per inlet, s0 100mm doesn't quite get you to 150mm.

Also not sure I have enough of an inlet pipe to mount these properly - at the moment they just pop out the wall with a 15mm nut.

Hmm, beginning to think without pulling back a few tiles and making a hole in the wall I'm not going to get a clean looking installation of a bar connector.

Respectfully suggest that you look at the Mira Mini and the Mini Valve adjustable elbow pack.

133-150mm adjustment according to their website.

Just goggle it.

That could be a great solution, came across some commercial Mira stuff yesterday which seemed pretty slim, but thanks for the suggestion!
