Not me guv.

I wouldn't mind having a go at pyro, but I can't justify the cost of the tools.

are those trouser boxes available in polished bronze?

I believe you can hire a stripper for an evening at modest cost.

you can strip pyro with an adjustable pipe slice and a pair of side cutters! As mentioned, the only bit of kit you have to have is the pot crimper. I found it quicker to strip with the bar with a slit on the end (cant remember the name of it) than any of the fancy tools. Sadly I havent done any in years now :(

why would you want them in brass? cant be for corrosion, is it just appearance?

we used to use
a) must have pot crimper
b) side cutters or pliers for stripping (I personly find it easier with pliers
c) A ringing tool but I was always made to practice using a stanley knife to score the ring, same technique was encouraged to practice on stripping flex

the older more experienced lads could score a ring with a stanley and strip with pliers/side cutters and get it right without fail every time, and fast too!
the apprentices got to do the ones where you could attempt with a longer length and lose the supplus in a void if when you did it right (when you started to run out of length you holler at the olduns to do it)
made for good practice though
