I'm not sure that I really understand what you're saying. A 3-C&E cable would, of course, most commonly be found joining two 2-way lighting switches, and, in that context, all three would be sleeved brown, anyway.

Maybe you didn't realise that this drift of the thread is not related to the original question (about a light fitting), but resulted from a general comment about 'colour changes in armoured cables'.

Clueless, BAS may be harsh, but you must admit you did draw a live wire to a terminal marked N and with a blue wire on the other side. Not the cleverest thing to do in the world.
