Back Boiler pro's & con's?

There is one downside to servicing a bb for a new client; I can't remember the last time I saw one that had been done according to spec, which is why I quote fairly high for new clients.

Ben, I normally get the client to sit and watch. Client ends up saying 'have never seen anyone do that before'

Yep, common remark, sometimes in a panicky tone of voice.
Deadpan answer along the lines of: "Just what it says in the book you should do to service this model, didn't the other guys do this?" rarely fails to impress the hell out of people.
Before the recession, I didn't have to spend a penny on advertising for years. Unfortunately, it seems the majority of the population have decided to wait with replacements/upgrades, and service less often than every year.

The good news of course ( at least for us ), is that we will earn a bundle in a few years time when all the lack of investment in proper installation/maintenane will result in a noticeable increase in breakdowns.

with compressed air i can strip clean all of it including burner 45-60 :D

If you do that then you risk being accused of covering his flat with dust!

That has happened once to me, not because I was using comp air but because the vac cleaner was discharging fine dust which was visible to the tenant ( but not to me! )

I hear that all the time. Usually in a house where I done the service the year before. Custards boil my p1ss at times
