How threatful is it how quickly 10 years can pass.

It is still unbelievable what happened on that fateful day in 2001.

God bless all those affected by that one tragic day in our history.

I saw the second plane go in live....and my brain computed that it was a lightplane? Like a two seater plane? I didn't understand how tall the towers were. They were not in my memory, but many films feature them later, now aware.

It must have been a devestating choice, burn or choke to death, or throw yourself to your death?

Just watched "United Airlines 93" ,,, Brave people , knowing they faced death at the hands of these cowards.

Very brave people. I was talking to someone about this yesterday.

They were in a no-win situation. Some had already been informed of the chaos going on around the country by mobile phone. So effectively they knew their fate unless they did something to try to stop it, which in a way makes it worse (if it can be).
Makes me F*cking mad.

Animals.

Nothing brave, in being a victim.

You confuse being told to do something, to being a victim of circumstance.

Its all a matter of perspective and remember yours is NOT the only one

To Billions of people the hi jackers were HEROES striking back aganst an enemy thats has killed 100's of thousands of THEIR innocent people via invasion and theft of natural resources

Whatever you think of the Hi Jackers it was incredibly brave to do what they did knowing full well they would die and then do it anyway for their cause. It was also incredibly well executed.......

The joke is the US and stupidly the UK attacked the WRONG country as a result !

Iraq and Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11 of the hijackers 13/15 were from Saudi Arabia yet NOTHING has been done to that country

As for the victims can you call them heroes well the ones who tried to save others and lost thier lives would be , the ones who faced certain death but got killed may have died bravely but ultimately are not heroes as they did not knowingly face death for a reason

Mickymoody I do not agree with you definition of hero and brave.

There were many hero's on that day, as well as brave people.

In fact many brave troops still risk their lives in search of the perpetrators.

spacecat has a valid point.....unfortunately it is all a vicious circle and it is just tragic that so many innocent people get caught up in it.

Those who over powered the hijackers on the aircraft flying towards the White House were brave. They knew civillians had already being killed through other crashed aircraft, and over powered the armed hijackers to prevent their plane being flown into a building. Heros AND brave I would say.

Regardless of where your particular loyalties and criticisms lie, the events of a decade ago today is clearly a punctuation point marking a notable spot in all that went before leading up to it, and all that has subsequently happened afterwards.

It therefore seem an appropriate time to pause in thought for the lives lost on all sides during this sadly long-lived (potentially over the centuries)plight for some kind of satisfactory resolution all round. Above all, for me, it highlights how completely pathetic we as a species tend to behave at times.

There were a bunch of idiotic, racially abusive, morons outside the American Embassy today spouting their tripe.

Personally I have no interest what-so-ever in what the likes of the English Defence League have to say. However, I would like to know why a group calling themselves Muslims Against Crusades (MAC), were allowed to set fire to a US flag outside the US Embassy in London this afternoon during a minute's silence held as a mark of respect and memory of the moment when the first hijacked airliner hit the World Trade Centre in New York.

One would assume that such actions, especially considering the venue, the time, and the date would be deemed as hostile and racially inflammatory and yet another group (EDL), who had gathered in response to the MAC demonstration, were ordered to move on to accommodate the MAC supporters!!!!!

Perhaps I've missed something here but that seems VERY one sided to me. Either ban BOTH groups from spouting their diarrhoea or allow both to have their respective voice. The approach to this will breed animosity and racial hatred.

The failure of being able to empathise is a severe lack of imagination IMO. This applies on many levels.
