baxi bermuda 57/3 fire and front needed

Is trotting on. Have the fire and front in my lock up. No way I could let it go for 100 notes though - took the whole lot out when it was 5 years old.

Good for you mate! I can get a bb fire and front for £200 hence the fact i asked in the first post "what fire fronts can go on the 57/3!

Fife is referred to as the Kingdom of Fife as anyone from Fife would Know and not hesitate in answering its something they are proud of. So sorry big yin your game is up. FAKE.

I have stayed here all my days and have never heard a fifer class fife as the "kingdom of fife" the only place i have seen that is on the signs leaving and entering "the kingdom of fife"

Im from abbeyview which if you no dunfermline is a pretty mad area!

pics to follow along with a few apologies from the non believers as well!

He seemed mature about his job and it was done correctly as im still here to tell the tale.

Only if i knew then what i knew now![/quote

Well, as you well know, it clearly wasn't done correctly.

Trust me this is genuine mate, ive spoke to loads of plumbers and have found out mitie are doing fife council upgrades but yet to find out where. as my first post states i had one promised to me for £100 but he let me down.

Did you not think to ask one of these many plumbers exactly where the work is being carried out?

Even I have heard of the "Kingdom of Fyfe". And, oddly, I have never crossed the border into your bonny land. I must get there sometime as I hear tell it is beautiful.

As namsag states it never used to be a problem pulling one of these fires out and capping it??? if it wasnt done correctly i'd prob be dead!!!!

All the plimbers ive spoke to are keeping their eyes open for works being carried out but havent yet come across any! i learnt that mitie have the contract for fife council through ukplumbersforum.co.uk when i put the same post in! and believe me they were an easier crowd than all you non believers!

And its "Fife" not "Fyfe"

Anyway im hoping tomo i will have some positive responses and maybe closer to sourcing a fire!

You's have been a great help so far

Cheers!

Please don'0t keep going on about the guy doing it right. It is clearly wrong and contravenes the regs. You got away with it, but an incident or accident is a cominbg tiogether of circumstance. Your fitter, frankly, was/is a dikhead, if he exists.

You also APPEAR have another problem. Is the fire should be fitted on a hearth at least 50mm off the finished floor level? I thought it wasn't, but on looking again, it may be an optical illusion. The boiler appers to be on the deck. An alternative is to fit a fender around the fire.

Do you have a ventilator fitted?

With regard to Fyfe/Fife, I apologise. It was late, I had a bad day and was going Banana's

The carpet was fitted once fire was removed and will be cut to suit whatever fire I can get my hands on to meet the 50mm

Its a chunky carpet and the underlay is proper thick stuff so will meet the 50mm without question!

Looking at the picture now there is about 100mm between the the carpet and BB already so its not a problem

Re the vent I have a vent that goes around the mantle but it was unscrewed before pics where taking hence

Re the vent I have a vent that goes around the mantle but it was unscrewed before pics where taking hence the rough plaster work showing. And I have a wall vent as well.

You had a bad day? How do you think I felt last night coming on here for help to get pelters all night.

And believe me I no the fitter is a Dick! But all I can do is rectify the problem in hand?

You could do worse than popping intae Bellyeoman council yard. Find the gas tecs' office and speak to the foreman. He might have one buck shee. Fife council are doing an upgrades programme just now, but I thought the work was all in house ( the heating work that is). How is Abbeyview these days? Have aw the flats been torn doon?

Abbeyview is quieter than before Boab and the final flats come down the other week with a big difference mate! It looks weird after living there all my life.

I tailed a gas van the other day but he turned into bellyeoman and I thought it would be a hard neck going in and. Possibly getting boys into trouble.

Do you think it would be ok to go in aye?

Aye, most of the fellas there are sound enough. Even if they don't have a fire on site, they might be able to tell you where a scheme is being upgraded.

Thank you for the pics BIGHYND1. Seeing is believing

The reason there are so many doubters and negative posters on here is the number of forum idiots and trolls that have plagued the forum recently. It used to be a welcoming forum :(
