Joining mdpe to an old corroded steel mains

Can anyone advise how I can join a new mdpe to a corroded steel mains water feed.
The corrosion doesn't look too bad but I doubt traditional olive would do the job.

Are you talking about cutting the steel pipe and joining it there, or at a threaded fitting already in-situ, in which case here. If you are cutting the pipe then hiring a threader will be needed too.

So long as it's only surface/cosmetic corrosion and is cleaned off thoroughly.
